Kazakhstan is bracing for severe winter weather as a storm warning has been declared in 17 regions for December 29.
In the Kyzylorda region, drivers are urged to be cautious of icy roads overnight and in the morning, with fog expected in the north and center and wind gusts reaching 15-20 m/s, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
West Kazakhstan is set to face snowfall, drifting snow, fog, icy conditions, and strong winds of up to 20 m/s, creating difficult travel conditions.
The Almaty region will see fog and icy roads across northern, southern, and mountainous areas, accompanied by powerful winds up to 20 m/s.
Meanwhile, Akmola region is preparing for snow, blizzards, fog, ice, and strong winds, while similar hazardous conditions - including snowstorms and gale-force winds - are forecast to hit the Ulytau region.
Authorities advise residents and motorists to stay alert, follow weather updates, and take necessary precautions as winter conditions intensify across the country.
