Kazakhstan Launches Nationwide Crackdown on Road Safety After Deadly Accidents

The Kazakh Interior Ministry has announced intensified road safety controls nationwide.

The measures will include large-scale inspections, targeted raids, and continuous monitoring of intercity routes and private transport operations, with special attention to vehicle technical conditions and driver accountability, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The initiative follows three recent road tragedies that together claimed 25 lives. On September 11, a minibus overturned in Mangistau Region, killing 10 people. On September 14, a collision involving three cars in Zhetysu Region resulted in 10 fatalities after one vehicle veered into the oncoming lane. In Karaganda Region, a similar accident caused by a vehicle entering the opposite lane led to the deaths of five people.

Authorities stressed that the enhanced measures are intended to prevent further accidents and improve overall road safety across Kazakhstan.
