Kazakh authorities have declared a critical fire danger warning for the Turkistan, Pavlodar, and Kyzylorda regions, as well as the city of Shymkent, as soaring temperatures and prolonged dry conditions heighten the risk of wildfires.
At the same time, widespread thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, and strong winds are forecast to sweep across much of the country, with northern Kazakhstan expected to be the most affected, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
Residents have been advised to remain alert to rapidly changing weather conditions.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has called on citizens to exercise maximum caution - advising against the use of open flames, outdoor smoking, or burning of dry grass and debris, particularly in areas with significant amounts of deadwood.
Meanwhile, a severe heatwave continues gripping several other regions, including Mangistau, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Kostanay, and Almaty, with daytime temperatures reaching 38 to 41 degrees Celsius. The extreme heat has further increased the risk of wildfires and poses potential health hazards, especially for vulnerable populations.
