U.S. President Donald Trump was reportedly angered after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly criticized the possible transfer of American-made F-35 fighter jets to Türkiye.
Trump reacted sharply to Netanyahu's interview, in which the Israeli prime minister voiced opposition to Türkiye acquiring the fifth-generation stealth fighter jets, The Caspian Post reports via Axios.
Trump said Netanyahu had "no right" to interfere in the matter.
Netanyahu had argued on July 7 that supplying F-35 aircraft to Türkiye would upset the military balance in the Middle East. He also claimed that Türkiye harbors aggressive intentions and seeks to revive the Ottoman Empire, alleging that Ankara has spoken openly about such ambitions.
