Kazakhstan's Almaty city has officially unveiled the National Research Center for Infectious Diseases, a strategic facility aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s biological security system.
The center, launched under the guidance of the president, integrates clinical care, scientific research, digital technologies, and education, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
It provides specialized medical services for adults, children, and pregnant women, with expandable capacity from 350 to 500 beds in emergencies.
The facility offers a full medical cycle, from diagnosis and treatment to advanced lab testing, including work with drug-resistant tuberculosis strains. Officials highlighted that the center will enhance Almaty’s infectious disease capabilities and improve access to specialized care.
