Kazakhstan’s Aktau Hosts Spectacular International Children’s Art Festival, Celebrating Creativity

From August 14 to 18, 2025, Kazakhstan’s Aktau city welcomed young talents from across the region for the “Önerli Ören” International Children’s Art Festival.

The Suvoriylar Dance Ensemble from the Republican Specialized Boarding School of Choreography captured the Grand Prix, while the Guldasta Dance Ensemble, led by Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Erkin Kahhorov and Gulandom Kuranbayeva, earned second place, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

In the musical category, Zayniddin Hikmatullayev, a student at the Republican Specialized Music School named after R. Glière, took home the Grand Prix.

The festival was held in collaboration with the TURKSOY General Secretariat and the Akimat of Aktau, celebrating the city’s status as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World in 2025.

Earlier this year, Kazakhstan’s schoolchildren also shone internationally, securing 2 silver and 4 bronze medals at IJSO-2024.
