Kazakh Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov has said that Kazakhstan produced 51.6 billion cubic meters of gas in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 16.7 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
Akkenzhenov made these remarks during a government meeting, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
The minister highlighted that the country’s production target for the full year is set at 62.8 billion cubic meters. Domestic consumption of commercial gas from January to September reached 14.3 billion cubic meters, slightly exceeding last year’s figures at 100.4 per cent.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production also saw growth, rising by 1.1 per cent to 2.3 million tons over the same period.
Akkenzhenov further reported that gas transit volumes through Kazakhstan increased by 2.9 per cent, totaling 53 billion cubic meters. However, he did not provide details on the volume of Russian gas transiting through Kazakhstan en route to China and Uzbekistan.
