Kazakhstan's Karaganda to Become CIS Youth Capital in 2028

Kazakhstan's Karaganda city has been selected as the Youth Capital of the CIS for 2028, following a decision adopted at a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

According to the CIS Executive Committee, Karaganda was chosen due to its strong potential for developing international youth cooperation and promoting intercultural projects across the region, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The title will first be held by Minsk in 2027 before passing to the Kazakh city the following year.
