Kazakhstan’s national gas company QazaqGaz has signed a contract to carry out geological exploration at the promising Saralzhin site in the West Kazakhstan region.
The document was signed by QazaqGaz Deputy Chairman for Exploration and Production Assylzhan Dauletov and Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Energy Yerlan Akbarov, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The Saralzhin site is located within the Caspian sedimentary basin, one of the country’s key oil and gas regions, and is considered to have strong potential for the discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits.
The contract provides for a full range of geological exploration activities, including seismic surveys, the drilling of exploration and appraisal wells, analysis of collected data, and an assessment of the site’s commercial viability.
