Kazakhstan’s transport sector shows strong growth, posting a 20.7 per cent increase in cargo volumes over the first 10 months of 2025.
Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev said that the sector has become one of the key drivers of the national economy, with investments in fixed assets rising by 18.4 per cent, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Transit freight also continues expanding, reaching 29.4 million tons, up 5 per cent year-on-year. Rail freight remains the main pillar of the sector, with 380.3 million tons transported from January to October-7.9 per cent more than in the same period last year.
Sauranbayev highlighted that digital initiatives such as the Digital Trade Corridor, electronic declarations, and one-stop service platforms are assisting eliminate bottlenecks and boost international carriers’ confidence.
