Kazakhstan Sees Record Oil Transit to China and Uzbekistan in 2024

Kazakhstan's oil transit to China and Uzbekistan has exceeded 10 million tons in 2024, marking a significant milestone in the country’s energy export sector.

According to KazTransOil JSC, the figure rose by 70 thousand tons year-over-year, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

KazTransOil’s volume oil transportation through its main oil pipeline system amounted to 44 million 887 thousand tons in 2024, 699 thousand tons or 2% more than a year before.

It was added that the volume of oil supplies to domestic oil refineries (including Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP, PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP, Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant LLP) in 2024 amounted to 16 million 712 thousand tons, which is 139 thousand tons more than in 2023.

The export of Kazakhstani oil in 2024 stood at 17 million 253 thousand tons, which is 635 thousand tons or 4% more than in 2023, while the transit of oil through the main oil pipeline system of KazTransOil to China and Uzbekistan was estimated at 10 million 214 thousand tons, rising by 70 thousand tons year-over-year.

Freight turnover of oil through the main oil pipeline system of KazTransOil in 2024 amounted to 35 billion 526 million ton-kilometers, which is 1 billion 318 million ton-kilometers or 4% more than in 2023.
