Kazakhstan Sets August 23 Date for Qurultay Elections

Kazakhstan will hold elections for the Qurultay of the Republic on August 23, 2026, following a presidential decree signed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The decree officially schedules the elections in accordance with Subitem 3 of Article 46 and Item 1 of Article 95 of Kazakhstan's Constitution, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

The Central Election Commission has been tasked with organizing and conducting the nationwide vote, including overseeing all preparations for the election process.

The government, along with the mayors and governors of the capital, regions, and cities of republican significance, has been instructed to provide the necessary organizational, technical, and financial support to ensure the elections are held smoothly.

The presidential decree entered into force immediately upon its official publication.
