Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin to review the progress of bilateral relations in 2025.
The leaders highlighted the elevation of ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, a key milestone in the Kazakhstan-Russia relations, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Tokayev welcomed progress in Ukraine settlement talks and stressed the importance of continued political and diplomatic efforts to achieve lasting agreements. He also condemned attacks on the Russian president’s residence, noting such actions undermine peace initiatives.
The conversation concluded with mutual New Year greetings, wishing prosperity and well-being to the peoples of both nations.
