Kazakhstan to Build First Green Fuel Plant in CIS

Kazakhstan is set to build the first plant in the CIS dedicated to producing environmentally friendly automotive and aviation fuel, marking a major step toward greener energy and sustainable transport.

The project is being implemented through cooperation between KazMunayGas national oil company and American partners, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The facility will focus on producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and eco-friendly automotive fuel, assisting to reduce carbon emissions in both the aviation and transportation sectors.

The new plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of fuel, with total investment estimated at around $200 million. Once operational, the facility will position Kazakhstan as a regional pioneer in clean fuel production and support global efforts to transition toward low-carbon energy sources.
