The Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has announced that Kazakhstan will host the inaugural “Commonwealth Fair of CIS Countries”.
The initiative to organize the fair was previously proposed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
The event is intended to be held annually in cities of CIS member states along the historic Great Silk Road. The first fair is scheduled to take place in Taraz, offering visitors a chance to explore handicrafts and folk art from CIS countries, alongside innovative products from the agro-industrial sector.
Beyond product exhibitions, the fair will feature cultural and educational programs, product presentations, and opportunities for participants to experience local customs, traditions, and the national cultural heritage of the participating countries.
