Kazakhstan Tops Central Asia in Henley Passport Index, Hits All-Time High

Kazakhstan has climbed three positions in the latest Henley Passport Index, reaching 63rd place-its highest-ever position and the top rank among Central Asian nations.

The improvement reflects the country's expanding international ties and its growing appeal as a secure and accessible travel destination, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

The Henley Passport Index, which ranks 199 countries by the number of destinations their citizens can visit without a prior visa, now grants Kazakh passport holders visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 79 countries.

Regionally, Kyrgyzstan ranks 73rd with access to 63 destinations, followed by Uzbekistan in 74th place with 62 countries. Tajikistan holds 80th place (56 destinations), while Turkmenistan ranks 85th, offering visa-free access to only 49 countries.

Globally, Singapore retained the top position for the second consecutive year, with its passport offering access to 193 destinations. Japan and South Korea share second place with 190 destinations each. European nations continue to dominate the top tier of the index.

At the bottom of the list, Afghanistan ranks 99th, with visa-free access to just 25 countries.
