Police in Kazakhstan's Pavlodar Region have dismantled an illegal migration channel, detaining a citizen of Uzbekistan accused of transporting migrants through Russia into Kazakhstan.
The suspect used a MAN truck to move people across borders, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
During a special operation carried out by criminal police units, officers stopped the vehicle and uncovered a specially equipped hiding compartment designed to conceal passengers.
Police reported that the truck was seized and moved to an impound lot, while investigators launched a criminal case against the organizer for facilitating illegal migration.
