Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has expressed his appreciation to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for lifting restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory.
The Kazakh leader made these remarks during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
President Tokayev highlighted that in November, the first shipment of Kazakh wheat - totaling 1,000 tons - was successfully delivered to Armenia via Azerbaijan. He emphasized that the development carries “significant political and economic importance.”
“Kazakhstan is prepared to provide Armenia with high-quality grain products and other goods on a regular basis,” the president noted.
President Tokayev also stated that Kazakhstan and Armenia have agreed to intensify joint efforts aimed at further expanding bilateral trade.
