KazMunayGas, CNCEC Open New Chapter in Petrochemical Cooperation at Beijing Talks

Beijing has hosted high-level energy talks as KazMunayGas Chairman Askhat Khassenov met with China National Chemical Engineering Corporation Limited (CNCEC) head Mo Dingge to discuss expanding Kazakhstan’s petrochemical industry, where China remains a key partner.

During the meeting, CNCEC briefed the Kazakh side on the progress of its industrial projects and highlighted its latest research initiatives, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

CNCEC - a major state chemical engineering corporation with thousands of projects across more than 50 countries - is known for building 90 per cent of China’s chemical and 50 per cent of its petrochemical capacities. The company previously constructed the KPI polypropylene plant in Atyrau under an EPC contract, one of Kazakhstan’s key petrochemical facilities.

The talks in Beijing come shortly after KazMunayGas and Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement on the Zharkyn project, signaling growing regional cooperation in energy and petrochemicals.
