Kazakhstan Welcomes Historic Peace Agreement Between Thailand and Cambodia at ASEAN Summit

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry has welcomed the signing of a Joint Declaration on the peaceful resolution of the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia.

The landmark agreement was reached with the direct participation of US President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

In an official statement, Kazakhstan emphasized the significance of the accord in restoring stability and security in Southeast Asia. “The agreements reflect a shared commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, regional prosperity, and the pursuit of diplomatic solutions as the only viable path to conflict resolution,” the ministry noted.

Kazakhstan expressed confidence that the Joint Declaration will lay a strong foundation for strengthened friendship between Thailand and Cambodia and enhance regional cooperation within ASEAN.

Earlier this month, members of the US Congress also honored Kazakhstan’s Republic Day, highlighting the country’s growing international engagement.
