Kyrgyz Support Signals Confidence in Kazakhstan’s Reform Path

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov have had a phone talk, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening strategic ties and expanding cooperation across key sectors.

Tokayev highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral relations, driven by active political dialogue and growing engagement between government institutions and business communities in both countries, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The two leaders praised the strong partnership in trade, transport and logistics, as well as water and energy cooperation, emphasizing their shared goal of deepening interstate relations based on friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance.

Tokayev also briefed Japarov on Kazakhstan’s ongoing constitutional reforms, which aim to support long-term political stability and sustainable development. In response, the Kyrgyz president expressed his support for Kazakhstan’s large-scale transformations and reform agenda.

Both presidents exchanged views on regional cooperation and emphasized the importance of joint efforts to promote stability and economic integration across Central Asia. Tokayev also wished Kyrgyzstan success in hosting major international events, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit and the World Nomad Games in Bishkek.
