Legendary pop group Backstreet Boys, following their dazzling Into the Millennium residency at the cutting-edge Sphere in Las Vegas, are bringing their high-energy show to Kazakh fans with concerts in Almaty and Astana this week.
The residency kicks off on September 19 at Almaty’s Central Stadium, followed by the group’s inaugural performance in the capital on September 21 at Astana Arena, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Fans can expect a powerhouse setlist featuring the band’s timeless hits-from “Larger Than Life,” “As Long as You Love Me,” and “I Want It That Way” to “Everybody”. Each show includes approximately 25 songs, mixing fan favorites with rarities like “Spanish Eyes” and “The Perfect Fan”, as well as a brand-new track, “Hey.” The performance lasts around 90 minutes, delivering a nonstop spectacle.
The tour is a visual feast, featuring massive 16K LED screens, dazzling laser displays, confetti showers, and towering platforms that lift the performers above the audience. Special attention is given to the performers’ safety-for instance, platform heights for Brian Littrell, who has a fear of heights, were specifically limited.
Audio quality is delivered through one of the world’s most advanced spatial sound systems, with thousands of strategically positioned speakers ensuring crystal-clear sound in every seat.
The production includes sophisticated lighting, hidden stage passages, and seamless rapid costume changes. Visuals and graphics alone represent an investment of $7-8 million, while the Las Vegas residency reportedly generated around $4 million per night.
Astana Concert reports that more than 12,000 fans from 45 countries-including Germany, Poland, France, Türkiye, Finland, Lithuania, Estonia, Czechia, Serbia, Greece, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Uzbekistan-are expected for the Astana show. The event will feature a “Total White” dress code to create a striking atmosphere of unity and style. On social media, the hashtag #GetReadyWithMe is trending, with fans sharing their outfit ideas-some even joking about wearing wedding dresses to match the all-white theme.
The upcoming concerts in Kazakhstan follow recent viral moments in the live music scene, such as Jennifer Lopez continuing her performance in Almaty even when a grasshopper landed on her outfit, proving that showmanship always shines through unexpected moments.
