Preparations Underway for Kazakh Leader’s Visit to China and SCO Plus Meeting

Preparations are underway for Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s upcoming visit to the People’s Republic of China and his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and the “SCO Plus Meeting” in Tianjin.

During the discussions, President Tokayev highlighted that Kazakhstan attaches top priority to deepening its comprehensive strategic partnership with China, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He expressed confidence that the SCO Summit would be a major success, marking a new milestone in the organization’s history and promoting further multifaceted regional cooperation.

The Chinese ambassador pledged to make every effort to ensure the smooth organization of events in Tianjin and Beijing, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening the Kazakhstan-China relations.

Officials also discussed prospects for expanding trade, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

Earlier reports confirmed that President Tokayev is scheduled to visit China from August 30 to September 3 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
