Putin’s Visit to Kazakhstan Puts Spotlight on Energy, Trade and Regional Integration - VIDEO

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Astana for a state visit at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The visit, taking place from May 27 to 29, is expected to focus on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

During high-level talks in the Kazakh capital, Tokayev and Putin are set to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation and future priorities across strategically important sectors.

Astana will also host major regional events as part of the visit, including the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Eurasian Economic Forum.

Earlier, President Tokayev described the Russian leader’s state visit as an important step toward reinforcing the strategic partnership and allied ties between the two neighboring countries.

Putin also emphasized the consistent development of Kazakhstan-Russia cooperation, highlighting active engagement across energy, trade, transport and regional integration.
