In Kazakhstan, several cargo wagons carrying logistical property of the Ministry of Defense derailed during maneuvering operations.
The incident occurred at the Turksib railway station in Zhambyl Region, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The Ministry of Defense clarified that the wagons did not contain military equipment, weapons, or ammunition, only logistical supplies.
According to the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy national railway company, the derailment happened due to a side collision with a departing freight train. No injuries were reported, and train schedules were not affected, as the incident did not disrupt the movement of other trains. Recovery work was completed promptly.
The extent of material damage will be determined by a special commission after reviewing the incident.
