Flight operations at Kazakhstan's Astana International Airport have been disrupted due to adverse weather conditions, leading to multiple delays.
A total of 72 outbound flights and 74 inbound flights were scheduled for the day. As of now, eight arriving flights and ten departing flights have been delayed, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Airport officials explained that departure delays were caused by the inability to carry out aircraft de-icing procedures amid worsening weather. At the same time, runway, apron, and taxiway clearing is being conducted on a continuous basis.
All airport services have been switched to an enhanced operational mode to minimize disruptions and ensure passenger safety as weather conditions remain challenging.
