The Ministry of Energy: Kazakhstan's Gas Supply Was Not Affected by the Accident at the Orenburg Plant

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy commented on the incident at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant, where an accident occurred on October 19 following a drone attack, The Caspian Post reports citing the Zakon.kz.

According to PJSC Gazprom, the company has temporarily stopped accepting raw gas from the Karachaganak field.

The Russian side has not yet reported on the nature of the damage or the timeframe for restoring the plant's operations.

The Ministry of Energy emphasized that gas supplies within Kazakhstan have not been disrupted; supplies to consumers continue as normal.

The agency clarified that the processing of Karachaganak crude and the potential impact on oil production are being discussed with subsoil users. An assessment of potential losses and further actions will be presented later.

The Ministry assured that it is monitoring the situation and is in constant contact with the Russian side and the field operators.
