Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev got acquainted with the progress of the construction of the Algakadam water canal in Kadamjay district of Batken region, The Caspian Post informs via AkiPress.
The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers was presented with the technical and economic characteristics of the project, developed to provide irrigation water to 4,200 hectares in Kara-Jantak.
In particular, the issues of the canal's capacity, the length of the tunnels and the volume of reservoirs were considered. Particular attention was paid to the construction of the tunnels, which are a key element of the water supply system.
The total estimated cost of the Algakadam project is 3 billion 72 million soms, 650 million soms have been allocated from the national budget.
Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of implementing the project for the development of agriculture in Batken region, increasing food security in the region and improving the socio-economic situation of the local population.
