Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has expressed readiness to support promising initiatives in Kyrgyzstan through the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund (AKDF).
The statement came during a meeting with Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
President Aliyev highlighted the importance of high-level dialogue in elevating bilateral relations to a strategic level and praised the dynamic growth of Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan ties. He emphasized that the upcoming Intergovernmental Commission meeting on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation in Baku reflects the countries’ commitment to deepening practical partnership.
The discussion also covered investment cooperation, energy, transport and logistics, education, humanitarian exchanges, and agriculture. President Aliyev reaffirmed readiness to continue supporting promising projects in Kyrgyzstan using AKDF funds, as the Development Fund begins financing its first initiatives.
Both sides stressed that enhanced collaboration strengthens Central Asia-South Caucasus connectivity and promotes sustainable transport corridors and economic ties.
