A law enforcement officer has been detained in Kyrgyzstan on suspicion of corruption.
According to investigators, the suspect-an investigator from the Leninsky District police department in Bishkek - demanded $25,000 from a citizen. In exchange, he promised to close a criminal fraud case and remove the woman from a wanted list, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
A criminal case has been launched, and the suspect has been formally detained. On April 17, 2026, the Leninsky District Court ordered him to be held in custody for one month.
The operational and investigative measures are continuing as part of the corruption probe.
