Cricket farming is emerging as an innovative and profitable venture in Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek, capturing attention as a sustainable alternative to traditional livestock.

The Kyrgyz Agriculture Ministry highlighted that this type of business not only contributes to food security but also offers opportunities for additional income, The Caspian Post reports per Kyrgyz media.

In Bishkek, entrepreneur Adyl has been operating a small cricket farm for five years. He began with just 30 crickets, gradually expanding his business and building a wide customer base. Today, he runs the venture with his business partner, Kubat.

Adyl roasts crickets and produces cricket flour, which he claims offers health benefits, including potential support for cancer treatment. The products have also become popular among athletes for their high nutritional value, reflecting a growing interest in alternative protein sources.
