Russia’s exports of agro-industrial products to Kyrgyzstan have surged to over $230 million in the first five months of 2025, fueled primarily by a sharp rise in sunflower oil shipments, marking an 8 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
Total shipments exceeded 210,000 tons, with sunflower oil leading the growth at more than 23,000 tons valued at nearly $28 million, compared to about 14,000 tons worth $13 million in January-May 2024, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
Beer exports also rose sharply, totaling over $4 million, more than 2.3 times the amount exported during the same period last year.
Other products showing significant increases in value included:
Fish and seafood - up 49 per cent
Prepared meat products - up 48 per cent
Mayonnaise and sauces - up 46 per cent
Margarine - up 30 per cent
Poultry meat - up 9 per cent
In 2024, Russia exported over 760,000 tons of agro-industrial products to Kyrgyzstan, totaling nearly $560 million, highlighting the growing trade ties in the sector.
