A serious road accident involving Kyrgyz citizens has occurred in Russia’s Karelia region, leaving one woman injured.

The crash happened on the 419th kilometer of the Vologda-Medvezhyegorsk highway. A 28-year-old Kyrgyz citizen driving a Honda Odyssey lost control of the vehicle after failing to take road and weather conditions into account, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The car veered into the oncoming lane and collided directly with a truck and trailer driven by a 60-year-old man.

The accident took place in the Republic of Karelia in northwestern Russia.

A female passenger, also a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, sustained injuries in the crash. Traffic police said she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, which may have contributed to the severity of her injuries.
