Kyrgyz President Ends Working Visit to Tajikistan with Focus on Regional Cooperation

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has wrapped up his working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.

On the first day of the visit, President Japarov held a bilateral meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.

The two leaders discussed a wide range of issues on the Kyrgyz-Tajik agenda and exchanged views on prospects for strengthening cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

Later that day, the heads of state took part in the 2nd Central Asia-Russia Summit. In his remarks, Japarov reaffirmed that the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation remain Kyrgyzstan’s key strategic partners. He emphasized that the summit provides an effective platform for fostering regional cooperation and advancing mutually beneficial initiatives.

Following the summit, President Rahmon hosted an official reception in honor of the visiting leaders. Before the event, the heads of state toured the government residence.

On the second day, President Japarov attended the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). In his address, he noted the positive socio-economic trends within the CIS, highlighting stable macroeconomic growth, improved infrastructure, and rising investment attractiveness across member countries.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a package of documents aimed at deepening cooperation among CIS states.

President Sadyr Japarov returned to Bishkek upon the completion of his working visit to Tajikistan.
