As part of his working visit to Kazakhstan, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on June 17 on the sidelines of the Central Asia-China summit in Astana.
The heads of the two states held a broad exchange of views on the state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations, deepening comprehensive and all-encompassing strategic cooperation, The Caspian Post reports citing Kabar.
Welcoming President Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping noted that the Chinese side highly appreciates and supports all the efforts and aspirations of the Kyrgyz Republic aimed at strengthening state sovereignty, building up its own potential, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development and improving the well-being of the people.
In turn, President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches special importance to relations with the People's Republic of China.
"We sincerely appreciate the achieved level of comprehensive strategic partnership based on mutual respect, equality and good-neighborliness," the President of Kyrgyzstan said. He emphasized that the state visit to China in February 2025 was an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations. A number of important agreements were signed, which have already begun to yield results.
The pesident emphasized that China is one of the main investment partners of Kyrgyzstan. He noted with satisfaction the start of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
Touching upon the topic of multilateral cooperation, the President emphasized the fruitful interaction of the two countries in many international venues.
The parties confirmed their commitment to further strengthening the Kyrgyz-Chinese strategic partnership, emphasizing the importance of mutual trust, respect and joint efforts for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
