Kyrgyz Soldier Suicide Sparks Arrest of Fellow Serviceman

A soldier’s comrade has been detained in Kyrgyzstan’s Jalal-Abad region over suspicion of driving him to suicide.

The 19-year-old suspect is being held in Manas city detention, and a court will decide on preventive measures soon. Both men served in the State Penitentiary Service, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The soldier took his own life while on duty at Correctional Facility No. 10. Investigators have launched a full inquiry, including forensic examinations, and are identifying other possible suspects.
