Kyrgyz wrestler Nurzat Nurtaeva has made it to the final of the U23 World Wrestling Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Competing in the 72 kg category, Nurtaeva triumphed over strong opponents from Germany, Russia, and Japan, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
She is set to face Jasmine Dolores Robinson from the US in a final showdown on October 23.
Meanwhile, fellow Kyrgyz athlete Kaiyrkul Sharshebaeva will battle for bronze against a Ukrainian wrestler in the repechage round, aiming to add another medal to Kyrgyzstan’s tally.
