Competing in the Greco-Roman 77 kg category, Makhmudov powered through every stage of the tournament - defeating wrestlers from Tunisia, Egypt, and an Iranian athlete representing Qatar to reach the final. In the decisive bout, he once again outclassed an Iranian opponent to secure the gold, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
Kyrgyzstan’s success didn’t stop there.
Asan Zhanyshov earned bronze after a confident 9-0 victory over Azerbaijan’s Islam Abbasov.
