Chubak Temirov, Deputy Director of the Kyrgyz High-Tech Park, has said that Kyrgyzstan is seeking to learn from Azerbaijan’s experience in venture capital and high-tech investment to strengthen its own technology sector.
Temirov noted that Azerbaijan has made significant strides in both establishing venture funds and attracting global investors, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
“In Azerbaijan, there are numerous local and foreign funds, and new ones continue to emerge. The country also hosts major global tech companies-Big Tech-that are still absent in countries like Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan. This demonstrates Azerbaijan’s significant progress in the sector. We are particularly interested in learning how these companies are attracted to the country,” he said.
Highlighting the potential for regional collaboration, Temirov emphasized the importance of strengthening ties in high technology and innovation. “We have established good connections with the sabah.hub fund. Last year, its representatives took part in Kyrgyzstan’s largest IT forum, and this year we participated in Baku ID. A few months ago, Kyrgyz startups joined an acceleration program organized for regional startups in Azerbaijan. This shows that real integration between our countries in startups and innovation is taking shape,” he added.
