Kyrgyzstan’s parliament has approved agreements to ease visa requirements for travel to the Seychelles and Togo, taking a step toward strengthening the country’s international ties.
The Jogorku Kenesh passed the bills in three readings to ratify a visa-free travel agreement with the Seychelles and a separate agreement on visa exemptions for certain passport holders from Togo, according to Kabar.
Under the agreement with the Seychelles, citizens of both countries will be able to stay in the other country without a visa for up to 30 days per visit. Their total stay must not exceed 90 days within a calendar year.
The agreement with Togo provides visa exemptions for Kyrgyz citizens holding diplomatic or service passports and Togolese citizens holding diplomatic or official passports. Eligible travelers may stay for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
Kyrgyz lawmakers also approved, in the first reading, a bill to ratify an agreement with Togo on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments.
The investment agreement establishes legal guarantees to protect investors’ rights when conducting business in either country.
