Kyrgyzstan is moving to upgrade its road infrastructure with the rollout of modern Rest Point facilities along key international highways, aimed at improving travel comfort for drivers and tourists.
The project involves building dedicated roadside complexes equipped with essential amenities, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Launched last autumn, the initiative is already taking shape. Some facilities are operational in the Issyk-Kul Region, including along the Tyup-Kegen highway.
Officials say each Rest Point will feature restrooms, shops, and other key services, allowing travelers to take proper breaks during long journeys.
The government plans to gradually expand the network across all major international routes, bringing Kyrgyzstan’s road infrastructure closer to global standards and enhancing the overall travel experience.
