Kyrgyzstan Sees Growth in Agricultural Production and Exports

Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting on the work done last year, as well as on the implementation of five priority areas of the department.

According to its data, the total output of agricultural products amounted to 395.6 billion soms, which is 13.6 billion soms more than last year, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

It is noted that livestock production increased by 11.5 billion soms, and crop production - by 1.4 billion soms. The volume of production in the food and processing industry reached 87.3 billion soms, which is 120.1% growth.

Also, the export of agricultural products amounted to 38.5 billion soms, of which food and processing industry products amounted to 21.6 billion soms, which is 17.4% more than last year. Imports of agricultural products increased by 3.3% and reached 107.5 billion soms.

Within the framework of the program "Financing of Agriculture-12", 12,108 loans were issued in the amount of 4.86 billion soms, and under the program "Lending to the agro-industrial complex", 7.3 billion soms were allocated for 2,762 entities.

Thus, the provision of seed material is 97.3%. Of the 66.8 thousand tons of required grain crops, 65.4 thousand tons have been prepared. The seed stock for winter sowing is 99% complete, including 98.9% of winter wheat.

In addition, the veterinary service inseminated 86,131 heads of cattle and 16,011 sheep. In the republic, 712.5 thousand heads of cattle, 32.6 thousand horses and 8.6 thousand pigs have been identified and entered into the ZhIKS system.

"Livestock markets and slaughterhouses have been taken under control, and the delivery of the necessary biopreparations for animal vaccination has been ensured," the report says.

The department also noted that in the fisheries sector, 35 new farms have been created as of October 1, 2024, the total volume of fish grown has reached 28.8 million individuals. Fish production amounted to 17,377 tons, which is 5,787 tons less than last year. At the same time, fish exports amounted to 1,765 tons. Following the results of the Ministry of Agriculture board meeting, tasks were set for water resource management, seed supply, development of processing and export, as well as improving the education of agricultural specialists.
