Kyrgyz Swimmer Out of World Championships Semifinals

Kyrgyz swimmer Denis Petrashov has wrapped up his campaign in the 200-meter breaststroke event at the ongoing World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

Petrashov competed in the fourth heat and finished fifth with a time of 2 minutes 11.68 seconds. This performance placed him 19th overall out of 43 swimmers, which was unfortunately insufficient to advance to the semifinals, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

Earlier at the same competition, Petrashov made history by capturing the bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke. His podium finish marked a milestone as he became the first swimmer from Kyrgyzstan to secure a medal at the world level.
