Kyrgyzstan to Receive $25.25 Million for Advancing Inclusive Education for Children

Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov signed the law ratifying agreements with the Islamic Development Bank on the Smart-Ed educational project on July 30. The agreements had been signed earlier, on April 22, 2025, in Washington.

Three documents were ratified within the framework of the joint IDB/IFSD/GPCO Smart-Ed project to improve access to inclusive education opportunities and its quality for all children in the Kyrgyz Republic, The Caspian Post reports citing AKIpress.

The documents were agreement on grant technical assistance worth $15 million, another agreement worth $250,000, and a loan agreement worth $10 million.

The total funding is $25.25 million (about 2.2 billion soms).

The law was adopted by the Parliament on June 26, 2025 and comes into force ten days after its official publication. The document was published in the Erkin Too newspaper on August 1, 2025.
