A suspected food poisoning outbreak in Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek, has left dozens of people seeking medical treatment after a meal at a local religious school.

Some 37 people developed symptoms consistent with foodborne illness after visiting the Abdullah ibn Masud madrasa in the Archa-Beshik residential district, The Caspian Post reports via AKIPress.

Medical officials said the first patients began arriving at the hospital on June 18. An epidemiological investigation found that all affected individuals had eaten Olivier salad prepared at the madrasa located on Chatyr-Kol Street.

Of the 37 people who sought medical assistance, 10 were hospitalized while 27 received outpatient treatment. One patient remains in the intensive care unit.

Hospital representatives stated that all hospitalized patients have been provided with the necessary medications at the facility's expense. Most cases are reported to be in moderate condition.
