The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States Media Forum has officially opened in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan, bringing together journalists and communication experts from across the region to strengthen information cooperation in the digital age.
Around 100 representatives from six SCO member states, including leading Kyrgyz media organizations, are taking part in the event, The Caspian Post reports via Kabar.
The forum was inaugurated by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Ulan Mamatkanov and SCO Deputy Secretary-General Oleg Kopylov, who highlighted the growing importance of media collaboration amid rapid globalization and technological change.
Speakers stressed the need to deepen cooperation among media outlets, expand professional exchanges, and promote a shared information space across SCO member states. Delegation leaders also emphasized the role of responsible journalism and cross-border communication in fostering mutual understanding and regional development.
The forum aims to strengthen partnerships in media, information and communications, while encouraging a unified professional dialogue on the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transformation.
