Minor Earthquake Shakes Southern Kyrgyzstan


The Institute of Seismology of the Kyrgyz National Academy of Sciences has announced that a minor earthquake was recorded in the Osh region of Kyrgyzstan.

The seismic event occurred at 11:17 a.m. (GMT+6), with the epicenter located within Kyrgyzstan’s territory, The Caspian Post reports via Liter.kz.

It was pinpointed:

2 kilometers southeast of Shoro-Bashat village,

3 kilometers southwest of Zhylandy,

4 kilometers west of Krasny Mayak,

and 4 kilometers northwest of the city of Uzgen.

The tremors reached an estimated intensity of 2.5 on the seismic scale, affecting the surrounding settlements, including Shoro-Bashat, Zhylandy, Krasny Mayak, and Uzgen.

According to authorities, no damage or injuries have been reported as a result of the earthquake.
