Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari will pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan from July 6 to 9 at the invitation of President Sadyr Japarov.

The leaders are scheduled to hold high-level talks in the resort town of Cholpon-Ata, where they will discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand collaboration within major international organizations, including the United Nations (UN), the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), The Caspian Post reports via the Kyrgyz presidential administration.

Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan established diplomatic relations in 1992, shortly after Kyrgyzstan gained independence. Over the years, the two countries have expanded cooperation in trade, investment, education, tourism, and security.

Both countries see closer connectivity as a priority, supporting regional transport and trade initiatives that link Central Asia with South Asia. Pakistan views Kyrgyzstan as an important partner in Central Asia, while Bishkek sees access to Pakistani ports as a potential gateway to international markets.
