Russia Becomes Kyrgyzstan’s Sole Gas Supplier in 2025

From January to October 2025, Kyrgyzstan imported 385.6 million cubic meters of natural gas from Russia.

This means that in 2025, Russia was the country’s sole gas supplier, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

In the previous year, small volumes of natural gas were also imported from Uzbekistan.

Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sergey Vakunov noted that Moscow strives to provide maximum support to Bishkek. Gas deliveries continue duty-free, and fuel supplies under the indicative balance cover nearly 90 per cent of Kyrgyzstan’s energy needs.
