Russia Remains Top Investor in Kyrgyzstan’s Economy

Russia remains one of the leading investors in Kyrgyzstan, with foreign direct investment (FDI) showing steady growth.

From 2017 to 2024, Russian FDI in Kyrgyzstan totaled $1.006 billion, highlighting the robust economic cooperation between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

Russian investments reached $279.3 million in 2024 alone. The funds were primarily directed to key sectors, including:

Manufacturing industry - $117.5 million

Wholesale and retail trade, and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles - $127.2 million

Financial intermediation and insurance - $23 million

Other sectors - $11.5 million

The National Investment Agency underscores the strategic importance of the Kyrgyz-Russian partnership and expressed readiness to further expand investment collaboration, aiming to foster sustainable economic development in Kyrgyzstan.
